I was lucky enough to attend the OSIA/CSJ event on Sunday
at Russo's on the Bay where Giada and Chief Inspector Anthony Izzo were honored as being role models for the Italian-American community. I attended with my daughter, a young highschool English teacher, and at first she attended begrudgingly, but later was so impressed by the spokes persons, and especially how gracious Giada was in her acceptance speech. Giada is such a warm, kind person and it is so evident by her eloquence in speaking. It was a pleasure and an honor to attend this happy occassion for her.

It was such a joyful positive day for me and for all the people present at the CSJ!!
I'm so glad you brought you daughter with you! I think that it's very crucial and important to get the youngest involved in all events that like this one that celebrate the Italian heritage and culture!!
I've never felt so honored like that day! To receive such an honor was very special to me! I got my voice and talent from God, but being a good person that's being the results of what my family taught me.
I do believe, as I said in my speech, that there are more good people in the world than bad ones! But as my grandfather used to tell me: The forest that grows make less noise than a tree that falls!!
I can see that in my own life: I have so many wonderful friends around me, people that I can trust, people that give me love, support and joy everyday of my life!!
And you are one of them dear Teresa!!
Sure there are also some falling trees here and there....just let them fall and leave them there....once fallen they will day!!
People see what we show to them! So let's show them the beauty of our friendship, family and values we all share!!
It's a wonderful world and it will always be!!
